2002 Tilt-Up Achievement Award

ADC Telecommunications, Inc. is a very successful, publicly traded telecommunications company with a most enlightened and proactive human resources management approach. The building for which the 2002 award was granted to Lintel was the third major job for this client. It is a 221,484 sq. ft. fire sprinkled, fully air-conditioned manufacturing facility, with a beautifully equipped 15,310 sq. ft. day care center for 200 employee’s children.
This plant has a 52,000 gallons per day waste water treatment plant and the treated water is used to irrigate landscaping.
It also has the concept of “Clear Visibility” common to ADC’s plants, where large windows replace the wall between manufacturing and offices, so the two functions are integrated together.
Due to the extreme recession of 2001 and its very hard impact on the telecommunications industry, ADC had to sell this plant before completing construction. It was purchased by American Industries, which then leased it to Ansell Perry, a well known manufacturer of medical goods.
